Kirtan Patel currently serves as a director of Medical Advisory and Consulting at Lumere. In his role, he is responsible for leading strategic sourcing initiatives at Lumere’s health system clients. With the help of Lumere’s analytics solutions and subject matter experts, he applies his expertise in physician preference item sourcing and project management to help health systems to reduce unwarranted variation and unnecessary costs in medical device purchasing. 

With a background in business administration, a focus on healthcare administration and experience in medicine, Patel is passionate about the evaluation of the management of healthcare systems, with emphasis on using scientific methods and evidence-based medicine and comparative effectiveness research to improve the tradeoff among quality, safety, and costs. 

In his past role as the leader of a Value Analysis program, Patel successfully executed under the leadership of the system chief medical officer, a long-term system-wide, sustainable strategy for reducing non-labor expenses, enhancing clinical supply chain performance, and improving clinical resource management contributing to the quality of patient care.
