Ragan Manning

Ragan Manning is the senior director of Resource Utilization in the Supply Chain at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Manning has served in business operations and supply chain functions at UAB Hospital since 2000. In her current role, Manning leads the creation, facilitation and direction of non-labor resources for the clinical enterprise. She directs product selection and resource utilization activities through a number of resource utilization teams and ad hoc groups in collaboration with physicians and clinicians.    

For the first 11 years of Manning’s career, she served as the business manager for Perioperative Services. In this role, Manning, with two surgeon co-leads, began the first value analysis team for the purposes of reviewing physician preference items in 2005.

Manning holds a Master of Science in Health Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She earned a certificate in Health Care Quality and Safety from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2015.
