Kelly Coxon is senior director of Procure to Pay (P2P) for UPMC. UPMC is a $26 billion health care provider and the largest nongovernmental employer in Pennsylvania. UPMC integrates more than 95,000 employees, 40 hospitals, 800 doctors’ offices and outpatient sites, and a 4.5-million-member Insurance Services Division, the largest medical insurer in Western Pennsylvania.
Coxon’s responsibilities include oversight of Procurement Operations, Accounts Payable, P2P Controllership & Compliance, Vendor Master Management, and Travel & Business for all UPMC entities.
In this role, Coxon guided P2P to achieve prominent levels of automated/electronic processes, Robotics Process Automation (RPA), reduced operating expenses, increased operational efficiency, and transformed to a center of excellence. Coxon leads with a heavy concentration on compliance to policies and procedures, standardized buy/pay channels, and a team culture of inclusion, engagement, and accountability.
Coxon has 30+ years of experience in P2P. Prior to joining UPMC in 2006, she worked 13 years for Alcoa where she focused on P2P process development and improvement and supported facility integrations. She serves as a member of Institute of Finance and Management (IOFM) and AP Member Exchange Advisory Panel. UPMC P2P was the recipient of the IOFM Department of the Year Award in 2013 and the Pay Stream 2010 Excellence in Accounts Payable Award.
