David Kalainov, MD, MBA is a practicing hand and upper extremity orthopedic surgeon at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, where he holds the position of medical director of Orthopedic Surgery. Active in clinical research, Dr. Kalainov serves as co-chair for the Orthopedic Value Analysis Committee and the Systemwide Pain Management Quality Committee. 
 
Dr. Kalainov is a Northwestern University faculty senator and a clinical professor of orthopedic surgery in the medical school. He is also faculty for a university-wide entrepreneurial biodesign course entitled “NUVention Medical.”
