George Kurdy
Procurement Manager
UCI Health

During the past 22 years, George Kurdy worked in various roles within Supply Chain mastering the P2P process. His career began as a buyer for a not-for-profit IDN in Southern California, then he worked his way up the ranks into his current role leading a team of buyers and analysts for UCI Health, a level 1 trauma center in Orange County, California.

Involved in continuous improvement projects throughout the years, Kurdy participated in and led initiatives including AI automation to leverage machine learning and eliminate manual touchpoints. As a Lean process improvement owner, Kurdy works collaboratively with clinicians to develop a product backorder approval process.

Throughout the pandemic, Kurdy and his teams worked tirelessly to source PPE and other constrained products, ensuring the front-line clinicians were never without the supplies needed to perform their jobs. Adopting the mentality that our work can be summarized as ‘saving lives & curing diseases’ has given Kurdy the willpower to persevere even during the most difficult times in healthcare supply chain.
