For 20 years, Randy Herron has been a member of the supply chain team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), one of the largest academic medical centers in the Southeastern United States. In 2004, Herron supported the opening of Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital’s new Catheterization and Radiology procedural areas and later served as purchasing agent for these areas, as well as the hospital’s operating rooms (OR). In 2010, Herron assumed purchasing responsibility for VUMC’s 60 off-site clinics, and has played an instrumental role in expanding the medical center’s clinic operations to over 200 sites from Kentucky to Alabama.
