As General Manager, Jennifer Fried provides the strategy and leadership direction for Explorer Surgical's global business and the ongoing development of new features to their digital case support platform, Explorer Live. In 2021, Fried led the acquisition of Explorer Surgical to Global Health Exchange, creating a synergistic union that provides suppliers and healthcare systems with a platform that provides intraoperative support for clinical teams to achieve the best possible outcomes for their patients. Her passion is to improve healthcare systems through technology innovation.

Previously, Fried was the CEO and co-founder of Explorer Surgical. She founded the company while studying at the University of Chicago and Alex Langerman, M.D., a head and neck surgeon currently practicing at Vanderbilt University. Fried is a venture partner of Portfolia, a FemTech venture capital fund supporting companies dedicated to female health and wellness. She has led an investment in Nest Collaborative, a telehealth platform for lactation consultants, and Willow Innovations, a hands-free wearable breast pump. She is also a Board Observer for Solace Therapeutics, a medical device company to treat stress urinary incontinence for women. Before Explorer Surgical, Fried was vice president at Park Lane Ventures, a healthcare-focused venture capital fund spun out of Essex Woodlands. 

Fried began her career as a consultant with Bain & Company in Chicago after graduating from Northwestern University. While working for Bain as a consultant, she attended the University of Chicago's MBA program, where the concept of Explorer Surgical was founded.
