Betty Jo Rocchio has oversight and leadership accountability in Nursing, Perioperative and Cardiovascular Services for 45 hospitals across four states including one virtual hospital in Mercy. She leads the quality, service, and financial initiatives for inpatient Nursing, Surgery, Cath and EP Labs, and GI Labs. This includes 4.2 billion in net revenue and 1.1 billion in cost.

Rocchio has 29 years of experience in health care, including 22 years in Perioperative Services and Procedural Areas in various leadership positions. These include Chief Nurse Anesthetist, VP Nursing and CNO, System Director of Surgical Services, System Vice President of Perioperative and Procedural Areas, and now she is the Chief Nurse Executive for Mercy Health System in St. Louis, Missouri.

Rocchio has been with Mercy for seven years - the fifth largest Catholic health care system in the United States. Mercy, named one of the top five large U.S. health systems in 2018, 2017 and 2016 by IBM Watson Health, serves millions annually. Mercy includes more than 40 acute care, managed and specialty (heart, children’s, orthopedic and rehab) hospitals, 900 physician practices and outpatient facilities, 45,000 co-workers, 15,000 nurses, and 2,400 Mercy Clinic physicians in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Mercy also has clinics, outpatient services and outreach ministries in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
