Conrad Emmerich, senior vice president of Clinical and Support Services and chief supply chain officer, joined Wake Forest Baptist Health (WFBH) in 2010. His responsibilities include Pharmacy Operations, the Resource Management department, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, and many of the support logistics functions. Over his career at WFBH, Emmerich served leadership roles and oversaw operational areas that include Laboratory and Pathology, Imaging Services and Solid Organ Transplant Services, along with the following services lines: Urology, Head & Neck, Digestive Health, and Plastic Surgery & Wound Care.

Notable accomplishments under Emmerich’s leadership include the Pharmacy that has more than tripled its retail revenues within WFBH since 2015. He has led many technology implementations / conversions both from a facility integration standpoint, as well as an organic continued advancement in improving the use of automation. These system implementations include ERPs, RTLS technology in asset management, perpetual inventory systems in Pharmacy and Supply, and Anesthesia Workstations, to name a few. Today, he leads the Supply Chain implementation of an Oracle Cloud product throughout over 45 hospitals that span from Central Georgia to Northwest North Carolina. This year, Wake Forest Baptist Health, partnering with UPS Flight Forward, launched a drone delivery network that began with the distribution of short shelf life compounded pharmaceuticals. Emmerich serves as the executive sponsor of this innovative initiative.

In addition to his WFBH roles, Emmerich serves as senior vice president and chief procurement officer for Atrium Health, which includes his responsibilities as president and CEO of Atrium Health Supply Chain Alliance, the regional group purchasing organization that negotiates and maintains agreements with suppliers for the purchase of healthcare-related products and services.

Emmerich is a graduate of both Northwestern University and The University of Florida where he received his master’s in Business Administration, has served in managerial roles at NorthShore University HealthSystem in Illinois, and Florida Hospital before being promoted to Supply Chain Services at Shands/University of Florida Healthcare in Gainesville, Florida.
